My Max Speed™

With My Max Speed™, users log their rates of speed every 5 seconds they are in travel.  Among other uses, this information is valuable for drivers who want to review their driving speeds and confirm they are driving within the safe legal limits. The data is stored in a spreadsheet, compatible with Microsoft Excel, and is exportable in batches or in 5 minute data snapshots, covering a specific instance.  Inside the spreadsheet display in the app, each speed recording can be tapped to display the exact physical location in a map format.

NOTICE: GPS must be checked in the Setting Locations.  If you only check wireless networks, location accuracy is about 50 meters.

After downloading the application from Android Market or from your browser at MyMaxSpeed.mobi and register, this is the screen you will see first. If you do not get this screen, you may need to go to Settings-> Applications - Check the "Unknown Sources" box, then press INSTALL

Press ON to enable the GPS. You will now see a message that the app is engaged and recording your speeds. The app will now record your speeds until you select OFF, at which time it will say disengaged.

Your highest speed within the last 5 minutes will always be displayed on screen above the ON and OFF buttons

Once you are done driving, press SAVE to record the past speeds onto a spreadsheet.

Then a spreadsheet will be shown of the data you just recorded.

On the main screen, press SEND to be able to send your spreadsheet to any email address, text message capable cell phone, Facebook, or over Bluetooth. Edit the date range you would like to view by pressing the start and stop dates, then press GENERATE REPORT.

Once you push GENERATE REPORT, Your report will be saved in your SD card under the folder MyMaxSpeed that can later be viewed on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

It will then lead you to a viewable log of your recorded speed rates within the selected dates.

Press the MENU button on your phone, then select the SEND option that pops up.

From there, you can select which method you would like to use to send your logged speeds. You may choose to send it in a text message with a customized message, post it to your Facebook, email it, or send it over Bluetooth to another device.

When you return to the report, you may select any one of your recorded speeds. You will then be able to view a map of the location you were at during the time that speed was logged.

For example: Your location on June 27, 2011 at 14:07.

If you send your location information in a text message, the receipiant will get a link to a map of your location. They can then click on that link to be taken to a map of the location.

When viewing the map, various options are available for the type of map that is shown.

From the main screen, press the MENU button on your phone, then press SPEED ALERT from the menu that appears.

You will be prompted to create a password. This way, parents can set up a speed alert for their children and the child can not make any changes.

Once you have set up a password, you will be taken to the main Speed Alert settings page. From here, you can turn Max Speed Check on or off, set or reset the speed to be notified at, add the parent phone number, turn on specific text message settings and change the password.

Once you turn the Max Speed Check option on, you can set a speed to trigger the text message to be sent to the parent's phone.

*Please Note: Only enter numerals in this box. Any other characters will cause the Max Speed Check to not work properly.

Next, you can enter the parent phone number to receive the text message alerts. Also, you can check the SMS PHYSICAL ADDRESS option, which will send an additional text message to the parent's phone with the exact address that a speeding violation occurs.

*Please Note: Only enter numerals in this box. Any other characters will cause the Max Speed Check to not work properly.

The last option is to reset the password. In case your child ever figures out your password, you will be able to change it.
